Selection Guide

01

Confirm Cleaning Method

Spray, immersion, ultrasonic or manual scrub — different methods require different foam control and wetting speed.

02

Confirm Temperature Range

Room temp 10-35°C / Medium 20-40°C / Heated 30-70°C — temperature determines cloud point selection.

03

Confirm Oil Contamination Type

Stamping oil, machine oil, mineral oil, composite dirt — affects emulsifier and additive combination.

04

Confirm System Conditions

Strong alkali, strong acid, high electrolyte — evaluate AC, SQ, TL/FC, CF additives.

05

Lab Validation

Use on-site conditions and cost targets as judgment criteria. Avoid promising direct replacement of all competitors.

Technical FAQs

What is HLB value and how to select surfactants based on it?
HLB (Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance) measures the relative strength of hydrophilic vs lipophilic properties of surfactants, ranging 0-20. HLB 3-6 for W/O emulsification, 8-18 for O/W emulsification, 13-15 for wetting and dispersing. Selection should consider oil phase, temperature, and electrolyte content.
What is the relationship between cloud point and operating temperature for low-foam surfactants?
Cloud point is a critical parameter for low-foam non-ionic surfactants. Below cloud point, surfactants dissolve as monomers or micelles, providing wetting and emulsification. Above cloud point, surfactants precipitate causing defoaming. Room temp (10-35°C): choose 25-35°C cloud point; heated (40-70°C): choose 40-50°C cloud point.
How to request TDS and MSDS documents?
Please call +86-757-22116855 or add WeChat fshexu. Provide the product model and application, and we will send the TDS (Technical Data Sheet) and MSDS (Safety Data Sheet) within 1 business day.
Can HETAICOS products replace NPE?
Yes. TAP/SA series isomeric alcohol ethers match NPE in wetting, emulsifying and dispersing performance while offering better biodegradability, making them an ideal NPE replacement for industrial and consumer formulations.
How to maintain surfactant solubility in strong alkaline systems?
In strong alkali (>20% NaOH), conventional non-ionic surfactants may salt out. Use AC20/AC30 solubilizers to pre-solubilize surfactants, or SQ153 amphoteric additives, which can stabilize surfactants in up to 30% NaOH solutions.
